ABOUT ME

Welcome to my website, my name is Thimo Lam and I'm a music teacher based in North Edinburgh.

The guitar was my entry into the wonderful world of musical expression and over the years I have been introduced to many other instruments. From my teenage years onward I have been involved with music in a local church, mostly in the contemporary worship style. Starting as part of the band and eventually leading bands and training up new musicians.

I completed my bachelor in music education at ArtEZ University in Zwolle (the Netherlands) with a focus on guitar, singing and song-writing. I have a lot of practical experience teaching children and teenagers.

I am passionate about teaching and seeing growth in students, whatever the specific subject is. And with the subject of music being so personal, I find that a personal approach works the best. Therefore in my teaching I discus the content and teaching style with the student and/or parents.
